Position Summary:
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position will focus on Vecima’s China team based in Qing Dao, Shanghai and our Japanese team based in Tokyo. This role is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management within these teams. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to all levels of management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Conducts regular meetings with respective team management and members
· Consults with all levels of management, providing HR guidance when appropriate
· Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
· Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
· Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to all levels of management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
· Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
· Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation
· Develops employment agreements for new hires, promotions and transfers
· Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures and workforce planning
· Identifies training needs for the teams and individual coaching needs
· Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met
· Owns full cycle recruitment and onboarding for the business unit
· Guide management with support needed for effective performance management cycle
Required Skills/Abilities:
· The ability to fluently communicate in Chinese, Japanese and English
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies
· Understanding of the company’s organization structure, jobs, qualifications and compensation practices
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Proficient with Office 365, ADP HRIS or related software
Education and Experience:
· Minimum of 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues
· Experience in recruitment of highly technical roles
· Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including recruitment, compensation practices, performance management, Chinese and Japanese employment laws
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
